II create landscapes, generally using my memory. I create images, seen on previous or recent journeys.
I love the remote and hidden landscapes where (I believe) time has stood still for a thousand years. But even places just around the corner can be very inspiring. During my daily walk with my Labrador retriever Gino, we both enjoy the fresh air and the change of the seasons, although he is more keen on chasing ducks and pheasants. I don’t know the reason why, but basically I must have seen it all before and that unbelievable precious mind sends a message to my hand and brush to create an image that, in spite of the abstraction, is just an indication of a landscape.
The consciousness that mankind is plundering nature and environment gives me a goal to show my landscape paintings. Just as a reminder to what we have lost or what is still present.

During my summer holidays I like to observe as much as possible and take many many landscape photographs under different light conditions. I use some of these photographs as a recollection. Sometimes I start in my studio with an impression of form and colour, but soon the painting changes into a total different direction.
My motivation and inspiration starts with a photograph or memories, until fantasy turns everything around.
